2009 has been a challenging year for small business. Clients are more cautious in
spending and more discerning when building new homes, purchasing new furniture
or carrying out renovations. Our design work continues to be targeted towards
kitchens and bathrooms as it is recognised that improvements to these areas can
dramatically increase the value of a property.
More sophisticated audio visual technology, including the advent of the flat
screen TV, has prompted many clients to upgrade their entertainment units
and replace living room furniture to take advantage of the more stream lined
appearance of modern equipment. Our consulting work continues to increase as
clients seek advice on new houses and renovations, not only in Noosa, but also in Brisbane,
Melbourne and Sydney. We completed specifications for a series of
project homes in Peregian Springs and we are also undertaking the
renovation of a local pharmacy. We are continuing to work with a
major development company in Maroochydore on a long term project
mixing retail and luxury. |
This penthouse apartment in the inner suburbs of Sydney has been designed to allow the owner,
who travels extensively, to come and go with a minimum of fuss and to be able to entertain
and accommodate frequent guests with ease.
Glamorous wallpaper and huge mirrors have been used extensively to create dramatic results. In
the dining room, kitchen and stairway, buff coloured wallpaper with silver medallions creates
the perfect backdrop for the eclectic style. Furnishings including original art deco armchairs
in black and white striped velvet, a massive carved wall mirror and an embossed leather ottoman
unified with a backdrop of silk wall coverings create a sophisticated formal lounge.
In the guest bedroom flocked black and white striped wallpaper leads the eye towards the twelve
panel padded bedhead upholstered in ebony velvet damask. The art deco bedside tables in brushbox
and anagre veneer complete the picture.
